MISSION: LET’S READ 20 is dedicated to building a Community of readers by encouraging everyone to read to a child for at least ​20 minutes each day from birth through elementary school.
​VISION: Raising readers who achieve and succeed for an entire lifetime!
​Marion’s reading initiative is working to change the culture and value of education and reading within Marion County. In doing so, we hope to consistently participate in Marion Imagination Library, significantly increase kindergarten readiness outcomes, increase 3rd grade reading achievement scores.

​GOALS & ACTIVITIES

GOAL 1: TO PROMOTE EARLY CHILDHOOD LITERACY
  1. Market registration into Marion Imagination Library/Ohio Governors Imagination Library
  2. Partner with schools & parents to encourage daily reading
  3. Book Procurement & distribution

GOAL 2: TO CREATE MEANINGFUL COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
  1. Create lists of literacy resources-print and electronic
  2. coordinate outside opportunities for modeled reading
  3. Develop partnerships with area agencies, businesses, schools, etc.

GOAL 3: DRIVE “LET’S READ 20” MESSAGE READING WITH ALL CHILDREN AT LEAST 20 MINUTES A DAY
  1. Provide resources to teachers in schools/day care centers
  2. Coordinated community literacy efforts and activities
  3. Established national partnerships for low cost book buying
